鍼灸治療を便宜的に2つに分類すると、「外科的鍼灸」と「内科的鍼灸」に分けられます。
外科的鍼灸とは肉離れを起こしたときなどに、患部まで鍼を刺入し電気パルスをかけるような治療、もしくは患部に直接鍼を刺して血流の改善や鎮痛を目的とする治療です。また、魚の目などを灸で焼ききってしまうのも外科的な治療の範疇になります。肉離れなどの治療の場合には、患部まで鍼を刺さないと効果がありませんので、3-4センチは刺入する場合もあります。
内科的な鍼灸治療とは「体性-内臓反射」とよばれる、皮膚のある場所を刺激すると特定の内蔵に反応が起きる体の反射作用を利用するものです。例えば胃の調子が悪い時に鍼を直接胃まで刺す訳ではなく(危険なだけでなく、仮にそうしても効果はないでしょう)、皮膚上ある反応点に施術することによって胃の動きをコントロールします。科学的により検証されている反応点と東洋医学の経穴とは概ね一致しています。
内蔵を動かし冷えをとったり、気分を落ち着かせる、生理痛や生理不順、不妊などを改善する場合には1-3ミリ程、刺入します。刺すというよりも、皮膚に引っかかっていると言ったほうがいいかもしれません。反応を引き出すための鍼なので、深く刺す必要は全くありません。むしろ、鍼の痛みを感じたりするほど深く刺してしまうと効果が得られません。
外科的鍼灸、内科的鍼灸共に適応症がそれぞれ違い、短所長所があります。症状は同じ肩こりや腰痛でも原因によって最適な施術方法は変わりますので、初診時にはその症状が起きた背景について詳しく伺います。
How deep is acupuncture?
If acupuncture and moxibustion treatment are conveniently classified into two categories, they can be divided into “surgical acupuncture” and “internal acupuncture”.
Surgical acupuncture is a treatment that aims to improve blood flow and relie pain by piercing acupuncture into the affected area and applying an electric pulse, such as when the flesh is separated, or by stabbing acupuncture directly into the affected area. In addition, burning fish eyes with moxibustion is also a category of surgical treatment. In the case of treatment such as meat separation, it is ineffective if you do not stick acupuncture to the affected area, so you may need to puncture 3-4 centimeters.
Internal medicine acupuncture and moxibustion treatment is called “body-visceral reflex”, which uses the reflex action of the body that reacts to a specific internal organs when stimulating a certain part of the skin. For example, when the stomach is not in good condition, acupuncture is not directly to the stomach (not only is it dangerous, but even if you do so, it will not be effective), but you can control the movement of the stomach by treating it at a reaction point on the skin. It is generally consistent with the scientifically verified reaction points and the meridians of oriental medicine.
If you want to move your internal organs to cool down, calm down your mood, or improve menstrual cramps, menstrual irregularity, infertility, etc., it will be punctured about 1-3 millimeters. It may be better to say that it is caught in the skin rather than stinging. It is acupuncture to bring out the reaction, so there is no need to stab deeply at all. Rather, if you stab it so deeply that you can feel the pain of acupuncture, it will not be effective.
Surgical acupuncture and moxibustion and internal medicine acupuncture and moxibustion have different indications, and they have their advantages and disadvantages.
